Summer Classes at the Rock

I think it is great that Slippery Rock offers many classes students can take in the summer here at the Rock. Some colleges do not offer such a big selection of classes that students can take in the summer. For instance if you need classes to graduate and do not meet graduation in the spring you can always take them in the summer and graduate in the summer instead of having to wait until the end of fall to graduate. I personally am going to take a class in the summer because I am 3 credits behind schedule of where I want to be in my major. Just the fact that I can take a class for about 3 weeks and get the normal 3 credits as if I took it during spring or fall session is wonderful. I am glad Slippery Rock has great options like this to offer its students who need the extra classes in summer for whatever the reason may be.

  1. You are right about the summer classes here at Slippery Rock University. It benifits kids that live up here permantly. They can get extra credits that are needed or just take a few classes to help succeed. All around, summer classes can help benifit students here at Slippery Rock.

  2. Slippery Rock does a phenomenal job with the availability of classes in the summer sessions. I would like to see more higher level courses in PE available though. I know it would be difficult having field experiences during the summer because schools are out. Creating new programs and ideas for the summer months for higher level courses can be just as effective. I would like to see a change in the program in this area.

  3. I agree with you and the above posts. I will definitely be needing to take a few pre-session classes to be able to graduate on time. If I was not able to take classes in the summer I would have to wait til December, and then probably would not find a real job until the following fall semester. So summer classes really are a great attribute to this campus. I love that I can take a classes crammed into 3-4 weeks and get the same credit as taking a full semester.

  4. I agree also with you and the posts that SRU does a great job offering summer classes. These classes can help students catch up or get ahead in their major. I know that I will be taking summer classes this summer to help me catch up to where I want to be in my major. The fact that we are able to do this is a great help to the student and to the university. Therefore I hope that they continue to offer such a wide variety of classes over the summers.
